-Recommended air pressure: 1.5 bar-22 psi.
- Dust dry at 20°C: 20 minutes.
-Curing time: 24 hours.
-Cobra Paints are acrylic / water based, airbrush equipment and brushes can be cleaned with the A.MIG-2260 Cobra Motor Thinner & Cleaner
Processing tips for 2K Cobra Motorcycle Paint:
-Use 2K Cobra Motor Paint to achieve the high gloss of real car bodies.
-It is a two-component epoxy paint, a special airbrushed version of the polishable 2K paints used on real cars, which means it is applied in the same way and gives the same shine as real cars.
-Mix 2 parts lacquer with 1 part Hardener, if you want to apply more liquid layers you can add the desired amount of 2K Lacquer Thinner and Cleaner.
- Remove dust from the paint area with a tack cloth before applying the paint. You can use the air from your airbrush to blow away any dust.
-Hold the model with a support on the inside so that you never touch it with your fingers, as this may cause craters or imperfections in the paint.
-Use gloves that are completely free of talcum powder and dirt e.g. a washed cotton glove.
-Unlike the Cobra Motor Paints, the 2K paint is solvent-based and harmful. Use a good spray mask with activated carbon filters.
-And possibly an extractor with an active carbon filter such as one of the Aircom extractors.
-Apply the 2K varnish according to the "Wet in Wet" method, and using a larger needle set from 0.4mm is a good starting point.
-First spray a thin layer of lacquer, let it dry for 2-3 minutes and then apply the thicker layer, wait 2 minutes and then another layer, wait 2 minutes and then another layer, etc. try to spray evenly to avoid sags .
-Make sure that sufficient layers of paint have been applied to allow the paint surface to be polished if necessary.
-If dust particles have fallen into the paint or overspray or if it has been scratched during use, it can be polished in exactly the same way as real cars.
-Clean the airbrush with 2K Lacquer Thinner and Cleaner.
-Let dry for 24-48 hours under a clean cover or e.g. cheese dome to prevent dust from settling on it and another day longer if you polish.
